1 WHAT IS INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE Integrative medicine implies practicing medicine in a way that selectively incorporates elements of complementary and alternative medicine,including traditional Chinese medicine,into comprehensive treatment plans alongside orthodox methods of diagnosis and treatment.2 ABOUT JCIM The Journal of Chinese Integrative Medicine (JCIM) or Zhong Xi Yi Jie He Xue Bao (Chinese phonetic alphabets of the Chinese title,and this is also the journal title and title abbreviation used by MEDLINE/PubMed) is the official journal of the Shanghai Association of Integrative Medicine. JCIM is indexed/abstracted in Index Medicus/MEDLINE/PubMed. JCIM is a peer-reviewed open access journal,and is listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). Both print issue and online issue of JCIM are published monthly. The full texts (HTML and PDF) are made freely available online at http://www.jcimjournal.com. All articles are citable by DOI number,and are searchable at PubMed with free full text link-out.
