摘要
中国西部的农业是一个特别落后的产业.目前我国农村劳动力人均创造的农村社会总产值,东、中部地区分别是西部地区的2.8倍和1.6倍;西部地区的人均粮食产量仅为全国平均的80%左右;全国处于温饱线以下的贫困人口中,西部占有80%以上,主要集中在西部农村地区.
The agricultural development in the west has long been in a comparatively passive condition due to the specified geographical factors and historical reasons in western regions. In the new period, we shall increase culture, establish the concept of greater agriculture, utilize the existing advantages in the west, cheap labor force and rich land resource, draw in 2 critical technologies—biology technolgy and information technology to exploit 3 major categories of biological resources: plant, animal and microbe and embark on the road of market-oriented agriculture and centralized use of land resource to reslize the smooth transformation from traditional agriculture to market-oriented agriculture. Agriculture in the west offers a lot to be tapped and deserves the attention of investors.
