本文扼要介绍了国家重点基础研究发展规划项目“９７３”项目中与语言信息处理领域相关的课题“面向大规模真实文本的汉语计算理论、方法和工具”的基本情况；讨论了该课题的主要研究目标、研究内容及具体实施方案；向读者显示了该课题的若干最新进展，并指出了标准（规范）问题在语言工程中的重要性。

An ongoing research project entitled 'Computational theory, methods and tools for the processing of large scale Chinese texts', founded by the National Development Scheme of Key Fundamental Research of China, is concerned in this paper. The objectives, main contents and basic steps towards the goal of the project are introduced at first. The state - of - the - art of the project is then demonstrated. The issue of standardization in language engineering is also stressed lastly.
