汉英翻译中的新词新语

New Words and Phrases in Chinese-English Translation

改革开放以来,我国社会发生了急剧变化,大批新词新语应运而生。面对新词新语,外语工作者有责任及时将它们译成准确、地道的外语,以便让国外读者了解今日中国的国情及发展。本文着重分析了如何才能做好汉语新词新语的英译工作,并结合实例提出几点看法。

Since the reform and opening-up,rapid changes have made in our social life,along with numbers of new words and phrases appearing.Towards these new words and phrases,foreign language workers are responsible to translate them into exact and idiomatic foreign language in time,so that the foreign readers are able to know about the condition and development in today's China. This thesis emphasizes on how to do a good job in the translation of Chinese new words and phrases,and points out several opinions on it with some practical instances.
