The Teaching of Cutural Background Knowledge in English Reading Course

语言反映文化 ,文化通过语言得以表现。语言与文化两者之间相互作用、相互影响。文化背景知识在阅读中起着非常重要的作用。在阅读课教学中传授文化背景知识的三种方法是 :讲解与介绍、课外查阅和课堂讨论相结合、比较中西文化差异。

Language reflects culture, and culture is expressed through language. They act upon and influence each other. The cultural background knowledge plays an important role in the reading. There are three approaches to the cultural background knowledge teaching in class: (1) explan ation and introduction, (2) out-of-class consulting and in-the-class discussion, (3) comparison of the Chinese and western culture.
