The development and the present situation of the particle size analysis of river load are introduced,the basic principles and operational flow of applying laser technology to particle size analysis are expounded.Through comparative analysis of measured data,the feasibility of applying laser technology to particle size analysis is proved and good proposals on how to guarantee the quality of the analysis result are put forward.
