On the basis of lots of document retrieval both at home and abroad,the representative researc- hing outcome in different periods was summarized,the mechanism and affecting factor of fault seal,the type and the representative quantity researching means of fault seal were summed up,their pros and cons in these means was shown,the problems in researching fault seal were found,and the developing orientation on the study of fault seal was formulated.
