The constitutional people were the social basis of Jiangsu Provincial Assembly. Because of their different backgrounds and ages they had different dependence on the Qing government and different inclination in their political positions after the Revolution of 1911.By studing their members we can have a better understanding of the foundation and the consequent development of Jiangsu Provincial Assembly and the real cause of the failure of the democratic government so as to learn lessons from the Revolution of 1911.
