The"female script"in Jiangyong County,Hunan Province,is the only system of ancient characters,used solely by women,discovered in the world to date. The script is widely considered a cultural phenomenon,one of the wonders of the world and a miracle, and eternal mystery,created by women. Chen Lixin,considered by many to be the foremost exponent of the script,has made it her mission to ensure the script is passed on to the next generation—and survives for generations to come.
