摘要
Feudal ethics and rites forced generations of women to say goodbye to natural and healthy feet, upholding crippled feet as symbols of beauty. Women had to suffer in order to possess the "three-inch golden lotus" or perfect feet. This series of photos portray centenarian Zhao Jiying, her daughter and other bound-feet female villagers. This is the last generation of bound feet women in China.
