因为对西部女童教育的关注,我认识了韦洲镇回民女子学校校长马新兰。在与她交往的十年里,有两组数据给我留下深刻印象:1985年,韦洲镇回民女子小学成立时,当地回族女童入学率还不到20％,小学三、四年级以后的辍学率更高达80％以上。现在,韦洲镇适龄女童入学率达到98％以上,在校巩固率达到95％以上,在这些数字背后,是我认识的回族女教师的执著与艰辛。
