Talk about a learning curve. China was preparing for the single most important flight-a man orbiting the Earth for dozens of hours-with next-to-no information about the re-entry of spaceships into the atmosphere. China had little relative data for Shenzhou V's flight-test, even though many researchers and pilots, including dozens of women, had devoted themselves to the project. Yue Xicui, China's first woman pilot general was one of those women.
