This very autumn, an international floral festival will unfold in Kumning, capital of Yunnan Province. Yunnan, known as "a garden of nature," boasts of having around 2,500 varieties of wild flowers. In recent years, the flower industry has developed rapidly there, with the flower-growing area expanding to 1, 729 hectares in 1999 from 16 hectares in 1994.
