China's women early lost century participat- ed in various leisure activities,depending on where they lived,to pass their time.In Shanghai,known for being avant-garde, women from the upper classes and /ro with careers amused themselves with the latest trends.Meanwhile,women in China's cold- er,more conservative north past their time playing conventional sports and participat- ing in traditional folk activities.
上个世纪初,女性的娱乐与休闲因地域、城乡、经济状况的不同而差别很大。在领风气之先的上海,上层妇女和职业女性的娱乐活动,已经带有追随都市时尚的色彩。而在寒冷和较为保守的北方,妇女的休闲娱乐仍以传统体育和民俗活动为主。
