摘要
2003年3月,在第十届全国人民代表大会上顾秀莲当选为人大常委会副委员长。在2003年8月中国妇女第九次全国代表大会上,她又当选为全国妇联主席。五年来,顾秀莲以她对妇女事业的热忱、投入、务实的精神赢得了广大妇女群众的拥戴。在今后的五年里,顾秀莲将和妇联干部们为开创中国妇女运动的新局面而进行新的努力。
Gu XiuliAN in March 2003 was elected vice-chairperson of the Standing Committee of the 10th Nationa Peop e's Congress (NPC). At the Ninth National Women's Congress in August 2003, she was elected president of the A! -China Women's Federation (ACWF). During the past five years, Gu has won the support and respect of women because of her zealousness, devotion and spirit. Over the next five years, Gu will not slow down. She will work with other cadres of women's federations to promote the women's movement.
