Shen Jinli was born into a mainstream sculpture family in Xiamen, South Fujian Province. 沈锦丽,出生在厦门的一个漆线雕工艺世家。小时候,曾祖母就有意识地培养她对漆线雕艺术的兴趣。漆线雕是中国漆文化七千年历史宝库中的重要瑰宝。至上世纪的后期,由于种种原因,几度濒临失传。为传承、开拓、创新漆线雕艺术,沈锦丽毅然决然地放弃了令人羡慕的工作,全身心地投入到弘扬、发展中国漆文化的事业中来。她的作品多次在中国工艺美术大师精品博览会上获奖。2002年在北京人民大会堂举办个人作品推介会和鉴赏会,作品已被数十个国家的元首收藏。她的主要作品包括九龙壁、辉煌世纪等。
