With 350 million smokers, China has 1/4 of the world's total smoking population and, of that number, 10 percent are women and that number is increasing. At what point the allure of "red lips and curls of smoke" began to become fashionable is unclear, but women of all ages and from all walks of life are wearing the chic ornament of smoke. Smoking has come into vogue with women, but it has brought with it a major concern for health authorities.
