Dongba is a township located in Zuogong County in Tibet, cradled in the dry valley along the upper reaches of the Nu River. The magnificent vistas in the valley resemble that of the Grand Canyon in the United States. There was a courier station in Dongba in ancient times. Today there are still horse caravans passing by every day. Dongba people own spacious and beautifully decorated houses, quite different to other Tibetan dwellings. What's more, Dongba people observe an unusual ancient marriage custom.
西藏左贡县的东坝乡坐落在怒江上游的干热河谷中。河谷景色壮丽,很像美国的科罗拉多大峡谷。东坝自古就是茶马古道的驿站。现在,每天都有马帮从东坝经过。虽然地处偏远,东坝乡民却拥有豪华的民居。乡里人自古至今实行着特殊的娶妻形式。
