When Xiao Xia arrived in Beijing 13years ago, from a village in thesuburbs of Hefei, Anhui Province, shehad very little education and only 25yuan (US $3) in her pocket. But shehad determination and courage. Shestudied, on her own, how to sew, andshe set up her own business: Repairingthe clothes of passers-by. She sitsoutside all day, whether it was winteror summer, regardless of thetemperature, to provide for her family.
