On the Phonology and Attribution of Huainan Dialect

淮南处于中原官话与江淮官话接合带,其语音具有中原官话信蚌片的特征。入声字专题调查结果表明,淮南话没有独立的入声调,古入声字演变规律与相邻的凤台等地基本一致。从本地人的语感和历史沿革看,淮南话应该属于中原官话而非江淮官话。

Huainan(the area north of the Huaihe River and north of the Changjing River) lies in the junction where Jiang-Huai Mandarin and Central Area Mandarin are spoken.The dialect spoken in this area has features of Xin-Beng dialect cluster of Central Area Mandarin. According to the intuition of the native speaker of Huainan dialect and the history of the area,we hold that Huainan dialect belongs to Central Area Mandarin.
