Thousands of stories have arisen—and continue to arise—out of the magnitude-8 tremor that destroyed huge swaths of Sichuan Province.Those stories,which touch our hearts and,in some cases, make us cry,have been reported by hard-working journalists,including Zhang Quanling,Chen Xiaonan,Fan Hongmei and Zhao Ying—four orinary women doing an extraordinary job in a war-like zone—from ground zero.Thanks to their vivid depictions of events from the front lines,we have a better understanding of the tremendous impacts of the natural disaster,and we have greater reason to trust our people’s,courage and ability to face the disaster.
