Dressing a doll,talking to it and posing for photos with it may seem like child’s play,but,in recent years,many young Chinese people,especially women,have helped turn that child’s play into a craze.The collectors,who often refer to themselves as the dolls’"fathers"or"mothers,"are educated, white-collared workers who are living in some of China’s largest cities,such as Beijing,East China’s Shanghai Municipality,Nanjing,in East China’s Jiangsu Province,and Guangzhou,in South China’s Guangdong Province.Collecting the dolls is only part of their fun;they derive great pleasure from taking care of their beloved"babies."
