Nearly three months have passed since the magnitude-8 earthquake ravaged large areas of Southwest China’s Sichuan Province. The merciless disaster has been cause for considerable thought. The world has been deeply touched by the confidence and courage of the Chinese Government,and its people, while coping with the tragedy. As it has coped with the quake and its aftermath,China has grown--both as a nation and as a people.
