摘要
近年来,运用统计手段进行实证研究很受欢迎。但是,对实证研究进行评估的文章极少。然而,对实证研究进行评估,有助于研究质量的提高。本文用实验研究分析框架,对近十年来国外一些知名的词汇附带习得研究文献的18篇实验报告进行了质量调查。结果发现:大多数都存在着实验设计不合理、混杂因素没有得到控制、调查工具不健全等诸多问题。导致上述结果的原因很多,主要是不少研究者对实证研究要求的准确和严谨认识不足,另外也是由词汇附带习得研究本身的复杂性所致。
Popular as it has become among researchers, the application of the empirical approach to second language acquisition studies remains seriously flawed. Among the problems are low-quality research design, use of inefficient test instruments, failure to exercise proper control over contamination, etc. While the highly complicated nature of research in this area certainly has much to do with the persistency of the deficiencies, they are caused mainly by the researchers' inadequate understanding of the empirical methodology.
