Analysis on the Optimality Theory of Syllabification in Iupiat

20世纪90年代初,音系学和认知科学的结合产生了优选论,它的核心是制约条件和制约条件等级排列。因纽特语,作为人类语言大家庭中的一员,无论在使用人数和使用范围上都占少数。从优选论的角度,分析因纽特语的音节组构,并找到它的制约条件及其等级排列,不仅可以帮助我们寻找人类语言音节组构的制约条件的普遍性,还可以检验前人所找到的人类语言音节组构的制约条件是否具有普遍性。

In 1990s,Optimality Theory (OT),which was developed by phonology and cognitive science,takes constraint and constraint hierarchy as its core.Iupiat,as one of the languages in human languages,is used by the minority and in small scope.From the perspective of OT,syllabification in Iupiat is analyzed to find out constraints and constraint hierarchy which could not only help us explore the universality of constraints in syllabification of human languages,but also testify whether the constraints found by previous researchers are universal or not.
