Amy Tan’s The Joy Luck Club shows the confusion of Chinese Americans within two cultures,by depicting the conflicts between the mothers and daughters. The peripherization suffered by Chinese Americans makes it possible to pursue their cultural identity, thus to reveal the inevitability of cultural melting.
