This article has analyzed the linguistic features of Chinese version of Tess of The D'Urbervilles translated by Zhang Guruo,which revived the style and language of the original story.The article has analyzed and commented from the several aspects such as wording,sentence pattern choosing and note using etc;it tries to provide suggestions with translation teaching and working from the analysis.If the Chinese version wants to keep the original style,the translator should read between the lines of the original novel,and conjecture the author's deep thought;if the translator wants to translate the satisfied pieces,he must understand two cultures completely and sufficiently to meet the reader's requirement of foreign works.
