外语教学要因材施教,因此对学生进行学习的需求分析很有必要。对远程教育环境下成人英语学习者的学习状况及学习需求的调查表明:大多数学生能够胜任或基本胜任大学英语学习;学生的学习动机多为工具型;学生希望教学材料有趣味性、知识性、真实性和实用性,希望能学到相关的英语学习方法。此次调查有助于了解成人英语学习者的学习需求,了解学生的语言基础;根据学生的语言基础选取合适的教材;对不同的教学对象采取不同的教学方法。

Foreign language teaching should be conducted according to the students' difference,so it is necessary to analyze the students' needs.The survey report shows the following results: most of the students are competent or basically competent with college English study;the students' motivation to study is largely instru-mental;the students like the interesting,knowledgeable,authentic and practical teaching materials;the students want to acquire the relative English learning methods.This survey contributes to analyze the adult students' learning needs and their language foundation.According to the students' language foundation,the teaching material should be chosen differently.The teaching methods should vary with different students.
