With the increasing influence of technology on human life and the emerging ills of industrial society,criticisms on technology have been unceasingly developing.Several key themes of 19th—20th century criticisms on technology have been summarized,and the tradition of criticisms on technology and their major schools have been evaluated.Criticisms on technology do not provide a thoroughgoing alternative to modernism,but are yet another aspect of modern thoughts about material culture and the technical arrangements of society.
