The National Southwest Associated University was a particular product of a particular historical period.Its eight years of schooling created a miracle in the education history of China,producing a batch of scholars with domestic and world-wide fame.Part of the success came from its managerial culture that made use of modern and ancient Chinese experiences,and also western experiences.Its management system was compact,efficient,and democratic.Its educational mechanism focused on the education and development of personal character.The University upheld academic freedom and gave ample emphasis on scientific research and rigorous scholarship.Its student management helped to develop students' self-discipline and autonomy.
