南非的多元历史南非人民获得民主后数年内(即1994年后),国内风起云涌,新的政治领导层发起了一场反偶像运动,包括拆除公共领域内的塑像,移除国会中的艺术品(EDINA,1996),给某些地点重新命名以恢复其非洲原名,或取消殖民时期、白人移居时期或种族隔离时期对原名的挪用。有些政治家,即民族团结政府的保守党(1994),主张报复。国民党(1994)
