On the Service and Educational Functions of a University Library-the Work for Readers

随着科学技术经济的不断发展,知识更新的周期明显加快,而图书馆员现有的知识、技术和能力,已不能满足社会发展提出的新要求。面对机遇和挑战,对图书馆人员提出了更新更高的要求,首先,更新观念,调整知识结构,掌握现代应用技术,提高综合素质特别是信息素质。其次图书馆员必须树立终身学习的观念,更好地为社会的各行各业提供最有效的文献信息服务。

In order to provide readers with better service, we need to summarize experience constantly, analyze readers' characteristics, and understand their requirements. Then we can have a definite object in view and develop various services to satisfy readers' different requirement according to their different reading psychologies. And through our effective service, teachers and researchers can do better in their teaching and research works; students could get more professional knowledge and skills to adapt themselves to the requirements of modernization construction.
