Understanding the image and metaphorical meaning of the original passage accurately is the prior condition of translating the figure of speech in English-Chinese Translation.Between the image and metaphorical meaning,metaphorical meaning takes the first while the image follows it.The figurative translation can usually adopt three kinds of basic methods: reserve the image,replace the image,and abandon the image.
