The Case of Pronunciation Change from w to v in Mandarin in South of Xinjiang

南疆地区普通话中,将w变读成v是一种较为普遍的现象,究其原因,是因为人们在读以w为声母的汉字时,受到了元音的松紧度、舌位的高低、动程的大小及语言迁移、发音习惯、不规范使用普通话等因素的影响。

It is fairly common to change the pronunciation of W to V in mandarin nowadays. In this paper, the cause of this phenomenon is studied and summarized in terms of vowel tension, tongue position and movement and language transformation, pronunciation custom etc.
