委婉清丽话吴歌

On the gentleness and elegance of the Wu Ballads

吴歌,是吴语地区流传的民歌民谣的总称。吴歌中一个突出的特点,即“前句比兴引喻,后句实言证之”,并擅长采用谐音双关的修辞手法,这些被后人称为“吴格”。吴歌的语言含蓄幽默、婉转生动,在手法、体式上,从五言句向七言句、杂言散体过渡,俗曲化、唱白兼杂,风格上具有委婉清丽、温柔敦厚、含蓄缠绵、隐喻曲折等江南水乡特色。内容以情歌为主,细腻描述哀怨委婉的儿女情长。长篇叙事吴歌以更接近生活、更接近口语的形式,挥洒自如地表现情感、反映生活。

The Wu Ballads are the folkloric songs and ballads popularized in the Wu-dialect areas. They are folk verses with strong national traits and local flavor which have been known for their tactfulness,gentleness,implicitness and metaphorical language. Their tunes are loud and clear,with natural grace possessed,as “Grand Songs of Zi-ye” goes,“Such moving songs we’ve never hear,entirely from the bottom of people’s heart”.
