The theory of grammatical metaphor has gone through more than twenty years since Halliday proposed it in 1985.Grammatical metaphor sheds much light upon the study of discourse analysis,translation and second language acquisition and promote their development.However,grammatical metaphor,by itself,is full of argument with a continuous process of being modified and refined.This thesis is to investigate its main content,development and the methodology of its application.
