The thematic structure plays a huge role in a text,is the main way of discourse analysis.This paper mainly takes thematic structure in functional grammar as theoretical basis,to analyze the original version and simplified version of Dickens’ 'Oliver Twist' comparatively,tries to reveal the performance and role of thematic structure in different texts.
