交往的困境——评阿尔比剧作《动物园的故事》

The Plight of Communication—On Albee’s The Zoo Story

运用哈贝马斯的交往行为理论,从交往主体的越界行为、交往对象的退让行为和交往媒介的去功能性三方面分析阿尔比剧作《动物园的故事》中杰瑞和彼得的交往困境,指出阿尔比对人物交往曲折过程的刻写呈现了因互主体性的缺失所导致的悲剧后果,揭示了现代机械文明对人之主体性的败坏,并反映了剧作家对现实之荒诞性的追问与深思。

By vehicle of the theory of communicative action advanced by Jürgen Habermas,this paper reveals Jerry and Peter’s communicative plight highlighted in Albee’s The Zoo Story from aspects of the intrusive action of communicative subject,the withdrawing action of communicative object and the malfunction of communicative medium.Albee’s portrayal of the tortuous process of communication amplifies the tragedy generated from the want of intersubjectivity,reveals the industrial-mechanical civilization’s wrecking impact on subjectivity,and reflects the playwright’s meditation on the absurdity of the post-war social reality.
