试论文学史的教育目的

The Educational Purpose of Literary History

文学史的意义在其起源处表现为对文学创作提供资源与经验,对文学活动的主要成就进行鉴赏与评价,以及展示民族文化与民族精神历程与民族语言的发展过程。在专门的文学史家出现和学科分化后,文学史表现为对一个民族的文学活动所进行的整体把握,但这种把握本身包含着矛盾性。文学史的创作与教学应当以提供研究的基本起点、培养阅读者的鉴赏力以及对阅读者的启蒙为基本目的。

The significance of literary history at the very beginning of its development was to provide materials and experiences for literary creation,to appreciate and evaluate the main literary achievements,and to exhibit the national culture,the spiritual experience of the nation and the development of the national language as well.After the emergence of professional historians of literature and the classification of disciplines,literary history manifests the overall mastery of the literary activities of a nation,but the mastery itself contains contradictions.The writing and teaching of literary history aim at providing readers with the starting point of research,cultivating readers' ability to appreciate and enlightening them as well.
