Ezra Pound,a renowned American poet,creatively expounded Confucian doctrine of 'gradation of order' and 'right naming',which was manifested in Cantos.As a result,Cantos was fully permeated with Chinese culture.Confucian doctrine of 'gradation of order' provided Cantos with a unique structure,and Cantos proved the universality and permanence of Confucian doctrine by vivid examples drawn from the world history.Confucian doctrine of 'right naming' inspired Pound's thinking over the function of language and became one of the sources of Pound's poetics of modernism.Pound's elaboration on 'right naming' was one stream of the linguistic turn in the academic world of humanities and social sciences.
