Philosophical Meditations on Language and Existence

我们说出语言并不是为了单纯的"交流",而是在完成世界同一性的展开。我们在听语言的时候也并不单纯在听语词,而是要让这些语词呈现出世界性。语言远非人类交流的工具那样简单。语言乃是我与世界的交融本身。生存者作为特殊的存在者乃是能聆听万物之道说者,并以其道说创造世界。在语言进行世界创造的过程中,我才感觉到自己"在世界中存在"。而形而上学的主客体思维方式却打断了人与物的交谈,把世界带入虚无。

The purpose of speaking a language is not merely for 'communication', but also for accomplishing the identity of the world. People hearing the language is not only listening to the words, but getting these words to present the world. Language is a far more complex thing than a tool for communication. It is the blending of ego and the world. Survivors are special beings who can hear the sayings of things and thereby create the world with words. Beings know themselves 'being-in-the-world' during the process of creating the world with words. However, the subject-object thinking mode in metaphysics disturbs the conversation between humans and things, and turns the world into nothingness.
