复杂性科学观照下翻译标准问题的再探讨——论底线翻译标准的必要性和合法性

A New Probe into the Issue of Translation Criterion in the Light of Complexity Science——On the Compulsiveness and Rationality of Minimal Criterion of Translation

翻译标准问题仍是一个悬而未决的问题。在代表着现代性的一元化标准被解构主义批评和颠覆之后,人们接受了代表后现代精神的所谓"多元标准",但实际上,这种多元标准在理论上是可争议的,在实践上是缺乏可操作性的。实质上是"怎么都行"的"标准"。作者在本文中运用复杂性科学的理论对这一问题进行了再探讨,论述了多元性与同一性的辩证关系,并指出这种同一性体现为底线的限定性,即设立底线翻译标准体系以弥补多元性标准在理论上的不足并增强实践上的可操作性。

This paper points out that the issue of translation criterion has not so far settled yet.After the monistic criterion,such as faithfulness,equivalence,was criticized and abandoned,pluralistic criterion was adopted by the translation circle.However,the socalled pluralistic criterion is not only theoretically fallacious but also impractical in translation practice.It means,in essence,no criterion,ie,'anything goes'.The authors make a new probe into this problem in the light of complexity science,discussing the dialectical relation between identity and pluralism,and insist that the minimal criterion should be used as a norm in translation,which can make up the deficiency of pluralism and make it more practical.
