Reading the Maternal in The Fifth Child by Doris Lessing

多丽丝·莱辛的小说《第五个孩子》讲述了一个中产阶级家庭因第五个孩子本的出生而分崩离析的故事。本文运用女性主义的理论视角分析小说中的母性经历以及莱辛对这一主题的严肃思考。本文研究后发现,莱辛笔下的母性体验颠覆了传统的母性神话,挑战了父权体制下为母之道的意识建构,为母亲实现主体性开辟了途径;与此同时,作者也暗示女性主体性的建构不能局限于母亲的价值。
