This paper introduces the automatic backwash filter applied in the paraffin wax hydrofining unit in Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Company. Compared with the old filter,the automatic backwash filter has the advantages of a higher degree of automation and high precision filtration which show its superiority in practical application. It paper also introduces the working principles of the current automatic backwash filter. The paper brings forward some measures and methods to reduce the mechanical impurities of semi-refined wax by optimizing operating parameters and optimizing operations which points out the direction for improving the benefits of the unit.
