本文从共时的角度描写了"只见"的几种语义,指出"只见"已经在某些情况下具有了话语标记的性质,其功能是在叙述主线上引进一个新出现的情形并提请读者注意。本文还从历时角度探讨了"只见"的形成过程和机制。"只见"是仅用于书面语的话语标记,其功能在口语中是用一些韵律手段来表达的。

In Modern Mandarin,Zhijian(只见)is polysemous:it can be used as a phrase or a verb or an adverbial discourse marker.As a discourse marker,its function is to introduce a new situation in the narrative line and calls for reader's attention. Diachronically, Zhijian's usage as a verb was the result of lexicalization from a phrase.Its function of a discourse marker was the further development of verbal usage.Zhijian is only used in written Manda- rin,and its function as a discourse marker is replaced by some prosodic methods in spoken language.
