严复批评儒学“无用”“无实”解

On Fu Yan’s Criticism on Confucianism in 1895

1895年严复《救亡决论》等文章对中国传统学术的批评,以往多被认为是抛弃传统,全盘西化。本文认为,严复批评的"论学"角度和具体语句,是经世的"实学"立场,和传统学术有密切的联系。

Fu Yan’s criticism on Chinese traditional scholarship in Jiu-Wang-Jue-Lun and other articles in 1895 has been considered tradition-abandoning and complete-westernizing. While this thesis reveals that Yan’s stress on academic and some certain sentences of critic are on the ground of concrete academic and intimately connecting with Chinese tradition scholarship.
