高校党委肩负着贯彻执行党的路线、方针、政策、坚持社会主义办学方向和领导学校思想政治教育工作的重任和使命。因此,高校党委只有以社会主义核心价值体系引领社会思潮,才能保证高校的教育事业健康、顺利地发展,而引领社会思潮的关键在于高校党委的政治敏感性和政治鉴别力,即在于高校党委工作中应进一步增强的五种能力:坚持政治方向的判断力、执行组织纪律的自我约束力、关注社会政治动态的洞察力、维护国家安全的交往能力和拒腐防变的自律能力。
