摘要
Based on the findings from a background questionnaire administered to Chinese and U.S.university students,this paper describes a number of similarities and diversities concerning body language between the peoples of China and the USA.The purpose is to understand how important it is to know the specific gestures that often accompany ones knowledge of a language.It is suggested that the study of body language should be complementary to the study of English as a second language.Knowing the correct body language can make communication with Americans easier and better.
