摘要
英语渗入式教学项目,尤其是晚期项目,是对传统的多以中文为教学语言的英语教学和学科教学的巨大挑战。我们在这项以英语为外语语境下的渗入式双语教学项目的研究中发现,该项目对提高学生的英语成绩有积极的影响。虽然双语教学在中国的实施尚处在实验和探索阶段,我们仍然有理由相信,它能够在一种更为自然的教学环境中,在很大程度上帮助学生在学习并掌握学科知识的同时,提高其在学科领域和日常生活中应用英语的能力。
English immersion programs,especially late ones,challenge the conventional English teaching in Chinese EFL contexts,which is accustomed to using Chinese,instead of English,as the medium of classroom instruction.This research shows that English immersion has some positive impacts on improving students' Eng- lish performance in Chinese EFL (English as a Foreign Language) contexts.It is hoped that in a more natural context the English immersion can help students improve their English proficiency as well as grasp knowledge in their specialized areas.
