Improving Listening Skills via a Strategy-based Approach in Chinese Context

The author of this paper discusses how to improve listening skills by applying strategy-based approach to teaching EFL listening comprehension to the Chinese students of English in the light of : 1. Introducing the situation of teaching listening comprehension in China; 2. Analyzing the existing problems in this aspect; 3. Reviewing the theoretical literature on listening strategies and their role in teaching EFL listening comprehension; 4. Proposing how to apply the strategy-based approach in teaching listening comprehension. 5. Providing a strategy-based listening lesson plan .
